Gregory, et al. v. LG Philips LCD Company LTD, et al. (D.D.C.): Spiva & Hartnett LLP represents District of Columbia consumers in this class action challenge to artificially inflated prices of flat-panel liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") found in devices such as televisions, computer monitors, and mobile phones. Ray, et al. v. State of Texas, et al. (E.D. Tex.): Spiva & Hartnett LLP serves as counsel to Plaintiffs in this constitutional challenge to unprecedented provisions of the Texas Election Code that allegedly severely restrict the ability of voters to vote by mail-in ballot and impair the ability of individuals and organizations to provide needed assistance to mail-in voters. Plaintiffs also seek relief from the allegedly discriminatory nature in which these provisions have been enforced against African Americans and Hispanics. The Complaint is available here. Eaves, et al. v. Earthlink, Inc. (Ga. Sup. Ct.): Spiva & Hartnett LLP is lead counsel for Plaintiffs in this nationwide class-action lawsuit against Earthlink, an internet service provider, for Earthlink's allegedly unlawful practice of penalizing its customers who cancel their service by assessing substantial early termination fees. The Complaint is available here. Lossada, et al. v. Union Oil Company of California (Unocal) (Cal. Sup. Ct., C.D. Cal.): Spiva & Hartnett LLP represents California consumers in this antitrust and unfair competition class-action challenge to Unocal's allegedly deceptive and anti-competitive conduct before a state administrative agency and toward industry associations concerning the standards for summertime reformulated gasoline (RFG), which resulted in higher gasoline prices for all California consumers. The Complaint is available here. King's Court Condominium Association, et al. v. Countrywide Financial Court, et al. (D.C. Sup.): Spiva & Hartnett LLP represents a class of Plaintiffs seeking relief from the allegedly fraudulent practices of developers, mortgage companies, and other entities, which together conspired to sell Plaintiffs overpriced and hazardous condominium units.
